Air Supply’s monitor engineer was drawn to PRO-STP.

January 10-11, 2026, marks the annual Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo City, Philippines. LeCafe Corp. coordinated and installed the stage, lighting, sound, and video for the celebration. Notably, January 11th also marks the Philippines stop of Air Supply’s 50th Anniversary World Tour.

LeCafe Philippines Corp. the UNiKA’s exclusive distributor in the Philippines, provided the newly purchased YAMAHA DM7 and RIO3224 D3 systems, along with a large number of speaker systems, for this performance. This included UNiKA’s PRO-3SP signal distribution system with up to 32 main channels and the PRO-IS2 signal isolation system with 8 stereo channels.

The most representative moment was when LeCafe Phillipines Corp’s manager, Mr. Nathaniel James C. Perdeguin and sound engineer Mr. Paul Carillo Erasmo used the UNiKA PRO-STP to test the speaker impedance and ensure proper functioning during a sound check. The lack of an amplifier made the process much more flexible. Air Supply’s monitor engineer, Mr. Eric Muños (center in the photo), was deeply impressed by this feature and convenience. He immediately ordered one from Nathaniel, intending to use it on future tours.

Air Supply’s last show before heading to the Philippines was at TICC in Taipei. More than 2,000 tickets sold out a month before the show, demonstrating their enduring appeal and the wonderful impression they leave on the audience.

Neil “Coss the Boss” Cossar’s latest gig is as guitar-slinger of The Guilty Men – a supergroupcomprising the cream of Northwest UK’s musician’s musicians. Formed in conjunction with withthe legendary Clive Gregson, the band hasa formidable depth of talent, including 10cc’s Paul Burgess on drums and Barclay James Harvest’s Jez Smith and Craig Fletcher on keyboards and guitars respectively.

While touring their debut album in small theatres right across the UK, Coss experienced issues with his acoustic guitar. Coss explains: ”While all the theatre PAs sounded great, I kept havingintermittent faults on the locally-provided DI boxes and so I decided to carry my own.

“I auditioned a number of differentunits and the UNiKAPro range sounded the most musical and fitted perfectly on my pedal board. Since I insisted on using my own DI I have had no problems with reliability and thegreat sound has meant the house engineers have been more than happy to go along with the change.”

EEM deploy UNiKA PRO DIs for UK Worship events

Essential Event Management (EEM) is a full-service eventsorganiser with a growing client base of Faith-based Organisations and Charities. Peter Purkiss is Lead Events Production Co-ordinator at EEM and trialled the UNIKA PRO Series DIs on the recommendation of UK distributors AUX Import.

PARTY NIGHT IN THE ILOILO CITY.

The grand show hosted by Uswag Ilonggo Part List was held on April 26 at Gaisano Capital Mandurriao, Iloilo, Philippines. Guest performers include Bamboo, The Juans, Jed Madela and other celebrities as well as renowned local artists. Denver and Ata will be the hosts of the show!

Ark Pro Audio & Light was responsible for all equipment and control of this performance. The highlight of this event, in addition to the newly arrived DiGiCo Quantum 338 and SD-RACK, also used dual backup Waves LV-1, Midas as the band’s pre-programmed console and monitor console.

The stage system used 32 UNiKA PRO-3SPs for 1-to-3 signal distribution, processing a total of 32 signal sources. The signal output end uses UNiKA PRO-IS2 for remote signal transmission. Ensure that the signal is not affected by potential difference and noise. Of course, the system processing also uses the UNiKA DSP-428II 64bit/96KHz system processor.

The music of some performing artists is transferred to UNiKA PRO-USB through the computer for lossless decoding and then input into the console.

It is worth mentioning that the band HALE on stage used UNiKA PRO-148 and PRO-248 active DIs for guitar and bass, and UNiKA PRO-TWO passive DIs for keyboards.

The performance started in the afternoon and lasted for more than 4 hours on April 26th, and the venue was packed with enthusiastic audiences. Bring a joyful and enjoyable weekend night to this coastal city.

Gary Wyatt extends guitar mixdown options with UNiKA PRO

Gary Wyatt has an enviable portfolio. His unique guitar approach has been featured on some remarkable recordings alongside major artists like Mark Refoy (Spiritualized, Spacemen 3), Dave Barbarossa (Bow Wow Wow, Republica), Spencer Birtwistle (Intastella, The Fall) and Simon Wolstencroft (The Fall, Ian Brown, Stone Roses). His trademark is dense swirling guitars mixed with retro analogue synth noises he affectionately refers to as “Pterodactyls”.

Wyatt’s private studio’s job-in-hand is recording guitars for in-house co-operative Lucigenic’s forthcoming LP, to be mixed by Tori Amos producer Dave Tolen at Hope Mill Recording Manchester. To give Tolen the maximum options Wyatt records everything with an additional dry “safety” track.

Wyatt explains: “I record my guitar with lots of distortion, echo and reverb. Hopefully the sound fits the track but just in case the producer wants to try different ideas I record a dry track in parallel. My “go-to” for this process is the UNiKA SDI-2. The LINK signal goes via my effects to the Orange Amp and is recorded using an SM58 to a track on Pro Tools. This is what I listen to and play to and hopefully the producer will like it but I also record the SDI-2’s balanced output signal which is clean and dry – that’s my “safety.” This can be processed using plug-ins, or re-amped, or the producer can use the dry signal as a mix control if he likes my sound but needs less of the effect”.

The UNIKA Pro SDI-2 is a 2-channel passive DI featuring Combo Jack inputs so can be used with both TRS jack and XLR signals. The two channels feature independent ground lifts and a common pad.

Manchester’s Lucigenic chooses UNiKA PRO RHA-1 “Reference” Headphone Amp

Lucigenic is a Manchester-based collective fronted by the inimitable Lucy Wyatt. Finding inspiration in a broad range of influences from Kate Bush and Patti Smith to the Cocteau Twins and the Chameleons, the current line-up includes Fall and Ian Brown drum legend Simon Wolstencroft. 2024 sees them hard at work on their forthcoming album in their private countryside ProTools/ Focusrite studio with the ever-climbing Manchester sky-scraper skyline as a distant backdrop.

For Lucigenic, the headphone sound is a vital part of the vocal recording process. Wyatt explains: “Our recordings are very full-sounding, withmulti-layered guitars and swirling effects, and I sing best when completely immersed in the track. My old Bowers and Wilkins P5 headphones are really comfortable and I have always loved their sound, but recording vocals has moved to another level now my B&Ws are paired with the UNiKA Headphone Amp. So much more clarity and power”

THE AMAZING 32 CHANNELS DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

UNiKA’s Philippine partner and the exclusive distributor ARK PRO AUDIO & LIGHTS in the Philippines is located in Iloilo City. Iloilo City is a city located in Western Visayas, Philippines. Popular attractions include Jaro Cathedral, Jaro Plaza, GarinFarm Pilgrimage Resort by Cocotel, and many more, which are worth a visit.

Mr. Dennis Sibayan, the owner of ARK PRO who in charge live sound supporting and equipment rental business nationwide in the Philippines. It also provides imported equipment and long-term technical support, tutorial and after-sales services to customers in its business channels.

Since ARK PRO and UNiKA officially cooperated in 2023. Dennis promoted UNiKA PRO’s PRO-Interface Direct Box series products and DSP and Dante system products successfully.

Dennis recently set up a very special signal distribution/ISO system. It contains 4 PRO-RA8 quick-release racks and 32 PRO-3SP. Each PRO-3SP has one of pass-through Monitor outputs and two of outputs each equipped with UNiKAPRO independent balanced isolation transformer. These devices are transferred into an 8U flight case to become to a 32-channel distribution system for stage signals such systems are commonly used in large concerts. But it is different from the general system. The PRO-RA8 quick-release rack allows customers to disassemble and assemble various DI and ISO products of the PRO-Interface series as needed. There will be no embarrassing situation caused by excess or insufficient channels.

It’s just a very surprising combination. Because of its reliability and convenience. Dennis immediately received orders from some orchestras and equipment rental companies.
